abstract

in many active noise control (anc) applications, an online secondary pathmodelling method that uses a white noise as a training signal is required. this paperproposes a new feedback anc system. here we modified both the fxlms and thevss-lms algorithms to raised noise attenuation and modelling accuracy for theoverall system. the proposed algorithm stops injection of the white noise at theoptimum point and reactivate the injection during the operation, if needed, tomaintain performance of the system. preventing continuous injection of the whitenoise increases the performance of the proposed method significantly and makes itmore desirable for practical anc systems. computer simulation results shown inthis paper indicate effectiveness of the proposed method.

A Self-tuning Feedback Active Noise Control System

Active Noise Control (ANC) systems are developing rapidly because of their improvements in environmental noise reduction. ANC is based on either feedforward or feedback control. Feedback structures are employed in applications that the reference signal is not available. The step size of filters used in ANC systems plays an essential role in performance of the system. Any variation from the appr...

Applications of adaptive feedback active noise control system

This paper presents the experimental results of using the single-channel adaptive feedback active noise control (AFANC) algorithm with an innovative setup to achieve global attenuation of industrial machine noise in settings such as large manufacturing plants. An effective solution of using active/passive techniques and three distributed error sensors is proposed. The performance of the AFANC a...

On the performance of a local active noise control system

This paper presents a multichannel active system for the local control of sound around the headrest on the back of a seat placed inside an enclosure. The size of the zones of quiet produced makes the system practical only at relatively low frequencies [1]. Finally, some results of cancellation for narrowband and broadband noise are presented. Two different system configurations algorithms have ...

Active noise control using robust feedback techniques

With the resurgence of active noise control in the past two decades, the design and implementation of optimal noise cancellers has been a topic of considerable research. Recently, much of the investigation is focused on fixed controllers that rely on the robustness of closed loop systems to deal with poorly parameterized or changing plants. Many acoustic systems employ internal model controller...
